Traveling the multiverse on a musical mission, Australian Psytrance label, Another Psyde Records has scoured high and low in order to bring together a first-class collection of music on its 2023 release ‘Another Psyde of the Moon,’ which features an array of psytrance, bush and dark prog and minimal techno guaranteed to please the discerning bush doof enthusiast.
Established in 2013 by DJ Ahavamour, Another Psyde has become home to a healthy roster of music
producers from Australia and worldwide, including notable rave outposts in Brazil and Israel. The mighty maiden of music, DJ MnemonicTrip, a fan favourite from Northern NSW teamed up with Whosplayn, a fresh talent out of Tasmania to compile the album selection. The vibes do not disappoint, providing dark, melodic, and beautiful earworms accompanied by rumbling baselines and vast soundscapes complimenting a bush landscape.
Minimal Criminal’s track ‘Mysterious Gobi’ is a perfect example of the lighter side of the compilation. At 135 BPM, it gives laid-back vibes, perfect for a little golden hour meditation before the sun sets and wilder things emerge.
‘Hypnos’ by Kauyumari would be the complimentary dark track to ‘Mysterious Gobi.’At 130 BPM, deep bass, a crawling sensation, and a pounding beat. The night things come to life with this track.
Aussie producer Reactant’s track “Get Outta Here” is an immersive soundscape that suddenly jerks your attention with what are clearly very Aussie vocal samples regarding gaffa tape, temporary fixes, and the like, a cheeky nod to the Aussie origins of the label? It’s nice to hear such a typical Australian accent in the mix, maybe even a little grounding for Aussies lost in a dance floor haze.
DJ Ahavamour is absolutely stoked with the track selection of tracks on this album and the behind-the-scenes work that went into the final product. “The Mastering by ‘Zeamoon Mastering’ in Germany, who is literally the highest rated Psytrance mastering engineer in the business and genre,” says DJ Ahavamour, “It really makes each track pop, makes them more special.”
